Groundbreaking Ceremony Held TODAY!

This morning at 8:30AM, we held the official Groundbreaking Ceremony for The new SPORTSPLEX. A 2.5 Million Dollar expansion to be used by TFC and LCA. We were honored to have Parish President Joey Durel with us as well as, Chief of Police Jim Craft, Councilman Sam Dore, and many others.
It is truly an amazing undertaking. A building that we have needed for quite a few years now and finally that day will soon arrive. The facility will have many needed areas for our student athletes and the families of TFC. Indoor courts and outdoor fields, weight room, exercise facility, and so much more. Thank you all for being a part of the Vision of the House and Vision of LCA! I will post pictures from todays event real soon.

TFC Men arrive back from Mexico Missions Trip!

On Wednesday of last week, over 20 men from TFC headed out to the boarder town of Elsa near Mexican Boarder to build and assemble the new roof on the Church. They returned this past Sunday night around 5PM. Pastor Freddie of Mexico, our good friend for many years, host us well each time we go down there. The men worked from Sun up to Sun down for 3 days and accomplished about 2 weeks of work in those short 3 days. TFC Men, you made us proud and I know that your reward for your service will be great in the days ahead for your sacrifice. TFC also offers a trip for the entire family twice a year. Contact Pastor Dwayne or Shelley Williams for dates and more info if you would like to take your family down to Mexico with us. Truly a life changing experience for all. This wednesday night the men who attended this last trip will be sharing their experiences with us at 6:30PM. Be a part of something BIG!

A Very Historic Day for TFC and LCA!

Yesterday, we signed a contract with Manecke Construction to be our General Contractor in the expansion of our new Gym and fitness facility!. In all of our years of expanding and erecting buildings, this is our first time to use a General Contractor. With all of the specialty items that go along with such a facility, we felt that using a Contractor would better serve us at this time.

Final details were gone through and now we will move forward. Our permit should be received on Friday and the Construction should begin on Monday, March 15th. This is a 2.1 Million Dollar expansion to the existing gym. It will be a very special place that we all will be excited and proud of. I look forward to many special moments in the years to come in that facility. TFC and LCA will be greatly served with all the opportunities that it will provide. Target date for Occupying the new facility is set for Aug 15th, 2010. We will do out best to have it ready for the school year 2010-11.

Continue to support and pray for our endeavors here at TFC and LCA. Our main goal is to Build Lives, Families, and Futures! This will give us another avenue to continue that purpose.

PS, we have been working quietly behind the scenes with our Active Sr Gated Community called Heritage Estates. More details coming soon in regards to the new sub-division. So excited to be a part of all that God is doing at the Ministry and all the many new and exciting days that lie ahead. Keep the Faith and Continue to Dream Big!

“I want to go to a Fun Church”!!

Many years ago when TFC first got started, 1973, I was 3 yrs old. My mom and dad started what was then “People’s Tabernacle” as a old line baptist church. Of course, I grew up on Stone Ave. all of my life and this is the only church I have ever been a part of for almost 40 yrs. In the late 70’s, my dad experienced the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the spirit-filled life. He would take us to church conferences of spirit filled churches in texas and oklahoma and I was impressed! At 8 yrs old I would call those churches “Fun Churches”! They had the drums, guitars, lights, great worship, clap hands, lift hands, smile, greet, meet kind of thing going on. Man was I loving those churches. I would ask my dad, “When are we gonna have a ‘fun’ church?” I assume by that statement that I didn’t think ours was very fun at the time. My family still today laugh about those comments that i made way back then. As I reflect now, I am so grateful to be able to be a part still today, of a Fun Church!

A church is a place where we can go to have fun, laugh, relax, worship, focus, meet, share and serve one another. Psalms 2:4 says that the One who sits in heaven Laughs Often. (NIV) If our creator is one that laughs, then why shouldn't you and I?

Join us today at The Family Church as we learn to Laugh Often at our circumstances and at ourselves! A cajun Comedian by the name of T-Frog will be with us at all of our services today. He will be helping me help you to Laugh Often!!
